Inishnee is an island located across the bay from Roundstone, a coastal village in Connemara, Co Galway. It is now accessed by bridge from the mainland. This is a quite picturesque area popular with tourists and artists alike.
The Gaelic language is the regular spoken language on the island. In this painting I have tried to portray the quiet peaceful lifestyle of the area, and a typical Irish cottage, few of which now remain in use.
